Tracking for Universal

Introduction
This guide will show you how to set up Universal Ads spend tracking in Northbeam.
Once connected, Northbeam will automatically pull:
- Spend data from Universal Ads
- Campaign-level reporting data from Universal Ads
Because Universal Ads is a CTV platform, this integration is currently spend-only and does not support:
- UTMs or NBT parameters
- Revenue attribution
- Conversion attribution
- Click-based attribution
- CDV (Customer Data Views)

Step 1: Connect Your Universal Ads Account
Northbeam connects to Universal Ads using a standard OAuth connection flow.
- Onboarding: Go to Integrations > Universal Ads
- Dashboard: Go to Settings > Connections > Universal Ads
Click Connect, then follow the Universal Ads authentication flow to authorize your account.
Once connected successfully, your Universal Ads account will appear in the Connections page.
Universal Ads FAQ
1. Does the Universal Ads integration support attribution or revenue tracking?
No. Universal Ads is currently a spend-only integration.
Because Universal Ads is a CTV platform, the integration currently imports spend and campaign reporting data only, and does not support:
- UTMs or NBT parameters
- Revenue attribution
- Conversion attribution
- Click-based attribution
- CDV (Customer Data Views)
2. Is CDV supported for Universal Ads?
Not yet. CDV support for Universal Ads is currently not available, but may be added in a future release.
3. Can I connect multiple Universal Ads accounts?
At this time, Northbeam supports connecting one Universal Ads account per dashboard.
If you manage multiple Universal Ads accounts, you can still track the others by:
- Connecting one account through the native Universal Ads integration
- Sending spend for additional accounts via a Spend Sheet or Spend API
Any non-connected Universal Ads accounts will work similarly to other non-integrated channels.
4. Why don't I see revenue or ROAS metrics tied to Universal Ads?
The Universal Ads integration currently imports spend data only.
Because there are no UTMs, click identifiers, or deterministic conversion signals passed from Universal Ads into Northbeam, revenue and conversion metrics cannot currently be attributed directly to Universal Ads campaigns.
5. Why might Universal Ads reporting differ from Northbeam?
Universal Ads may use view-through attribution windows within their platform reporting.
Universal Ads currently supports the following attribution windows:
- 7-day
- 14-day
- 30-day
Northbeam uses its own attribution methodology and reporting logic, so discrepancies between Northbeam and in-platform Universal Ads reporting are expected.
6. I think there's an issue with my Universal Ads integration. Please help!

- Connection: Go to Settings > Connections and check for any errors on the Universal Ads connection
- Authentication: Reconnect the integration if authorization has expired
- Data Sync Timing: Spend data may take some time to appear after connecting, depending on Universal Ads data sync timing
