Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • A Neon Pixel API key
  • The channel information provided by your Neon Pixel representative
  • Contact information for your Neon Pixel representative

Need an API key? Contact your Neon Pixel representative. Keep the key secure and do not add it to landing page URLs or share it outside the people responsible for this integration.

Step 1: Connect Your Neon Pixel Account

  1. In Northbeam, go to Settings > Connections.
  2. Find Neon Pixel and click Connect.
  1. Under Neon Pixel Channels, select the channel or channels provided by your Neon Pixel representative. The example below uses Multi-touch.

  2. Paste your Neon Pixel API key into the API Key field.

  3. Optional: Enable Apex data sharing if you want Northbeam to send performance signals to Neon Pixel.

  4. Review the data sharing terms.

  5. Enable Clicks + Deterministic Views so Northbeam can receive impressions for this attribution model.

  6. Click Connect.

Step 2: Finalize Impression Data Setup

After the account connects, Northbeam displays a Finalize Neon Pixel impression setup message.

  1. Click Done to close the message.
  2. Contact your Neon Pixel representative and ask them to finalise your impression data setup.

Required for view attribution: Connecting the account does not complete impression setup. Your Neon Pixel representative must finalize it before deterministic impression data can flow to Northbeam.

Step 3: Enable Clicks + Deterministic Views

  1. In Northbeam, go to Settings > Model Settings.
  2. Enable Clicks + Deterministic Views under Attribution Models Available.
  3. In the platform list below the model, select Neon Pixel.
  4. Save your changes if prompted.

The model must be enabled both in Model Settings and for Neon Pixel. Once the connection and impression setup are complete, data should begin flowing within approximately 48 hours.

Step 4: Verify the Integration

Return to Settings > Connections > Neon Pixel and confirm that:

  • The connection card displays a green confirmation icon.
  • The correct Neon Pixel ad account ID is linked.
  • Enable C+DV for Neon Pixel is turned on.
  • Apex data sharing reflects your preferred setting.

Then complete these checks:

  • Confirm that Clicks + Deterministic Views and Neon Pixel are both enabled in Model Settings.
  • Confirm with your Neon Pixel representative that impression setup is complete.
  • Allow approximately 48 hours for data to begin flowing.
  • Open Sales Attribution and select the Clicks + Deterministic Views model.
  • Confirm that Neon Pixel spend appears for the expected date range.
  • Confirm that revenue and ROAS populate when eligible impressions are matched to orders.

Neon Pixel FAQ

1. Does Neon Pixel support attribution and revenue tracking?

Yes. Neon Pixel supports deterministic view attribution through the Clicks + Deterministic Views model after the connection is active and impression setup has been finalized.

2. How long does Neon Pixel data take to appear?

Once the connection and impression setup are complete, allow approximately 48 hours for data to begin flowing.

3. Why can I see spend but not attributed revenue?

Check that:

  • Enable C+DV for Neon Pixel is turned on in the connection card.
  • Clicks + Deterministic Views is enabled in Model Settings.
  • Neon Pixel is selected under the model's platform list.
  • Your Neon Pixel representative has finalized impression data setup.
  • At least 48 hours have passed since setup was completed.

Revenue and ROAS populate only when eligible impressions can be matched to orders.

4. What is Apex data sharing?

When enabled, Apex data sharing sends Northbeam performance signals to Neon Pixel. The setting is optional and can be managed from the Neon Pixel connection card.

5. Will switching to Neon Pixel delete historical data?

No. Historical data from the previous connection is not deleted. However, saved views and columns that reference the inactive platform may appear blank and should be updated.

6. Why do saved views and exports need to be reviewed?

Northbeam automatically updates built-in platform references, but it does not automatically rewrite user-created configurations. Review custom metrics, breakdowns, saved views, scheduled exports, and Marketing Mix Modeling mappings after switching.

7. What should I do if Neon Pixel data is missing?

  • Confirm that the connection card is green and the correct account is linked.
  • Confirm that the correct Neon Pixel channel was selected.
  • Check that the API key is still valid.
  • Confirm that Clicks + Deterministic Views is enabled in both the connection and Model Settings.
  • Ask your Neon Pixel representative to confirm that impression setup is complete.
  • Allow approximately 48 hours after setup before troubleshooting further.

8. Where do I get a Neon Pixel API key?

Contact your Neon Pixel representative for the API key and the channel information required for your account.

9. What should I do if the API key is lost or invalid?

Contact your Neon Pixel representative for a replacement key, then reconnect the account from Settings > Connections > Neon Pixel.
