How does Northbeam track Orders and Ads?
How does Northbeam data work?
Northbeam uses three core data sources to track customer journeys and attribute performance across your marketing efforts:
- Journey Tracking via First-Party Pixel
- Captures all customer touchpoints across Paid Channels and Brand Interactions.
- Order Data via Server-to-Serve Integration
- Pulls in the order data from platforms like Shopify via direct backend connections.
- Platform-Level Data
- Ingests Spend and Performance data directly from ad platforms like Meta and Google.

About Unattributed Data
- Some orders may show up as unattributed, which is normal and expected to a certain extent. This typically occurs when pixel data is missing or incomplete.
Common causes of Unattributed Orders:
- Draft or manually created Orders
- Wholesale or Marketplace Orders (eg., Tapcart, ClickFunnels, Walmart)
- Third-Party Checkouts or Apps
- Subscription Renewals from before Northbeam was installed
- Orders from native shopping tools (Meta Shops and TikTok Shops are now supported)
Any Orders that does not trigger the Northbeam Pixel and Purchase Pixel will appear as Unattributed.
Northbeam monitors each dashboards for normal thresholds of unattributed data. While some unattributed data is expected, the majority of your oder and revenue data will be properly attributed through our integrated tracking system.
