When you’re done, Northbeam shows the visits, revenue, and orders from your Attentive campaigns and flows, plus email and SMS sign-ups from Attentive’s opt-in forms.
Before you start, make sure you have:
  • An Attentive login with access to the Settings tab
  • An Attentive SFTP account. If you don’t have one, ask your Attentive Client Strategy Representative or Attentive’s White Glove team (whiteglove@attentivemobile.com).

1. Connect the account

Set up an SFTP data feed and send Northbeam the login.

2. Add the sign-up event

See which channels drive your sign-ups.

3. Confirm tracking

Check that parameters and data are arriving.

Connect your Attentive account

Northbeam connects directly to Attentive’s SFTP data feed, so you need an Attentive SFTP account.A. Check for an SFTP account
  1. Log in to Attentive and open the Settings tab.
  2. Look for SFTP Account Management.
If you don’t see it, you don’t have an SFTP account yet. Request one from your Attentive Client Strategy Representative or whiteglove@attentivemobile.com.B. Create a permanent passwordNew accounts usually get a temporary password. Set a permanent password so the connection doesn’t break when the temporary one expires. From Attentive’s docs:
  1. Log in to Attentive and open the Settings tab.
  2. Select SFTP Account Management. If you don’t see it, contact whiteglove@attentivemobile.com or your CSM and ask them to create your SFTP account.
  3. Click Reset SFTP Password. This sends a reset request to Attentive.
  4. Follow the instructions in Attentive’s email to enter a Validation Code and choose your new password.
C. Ask Attentive to send daily logsOnce your SFTP account exists, ask your Attentive Client Strategy Representative or whiteglove@attentivemobile.com to turn on daily logs. You can use this email:
Hi there! Northbeam is a multi-touch attribution system that helps us understand our customers’ digital journey. We are currently working with them and would love to integrate Attentive Mobile reporting into our analytics within their platform. We’d like to establish a SFTP data feed and would like the following events from the General Events data feed: Daily logs for the following Attentive Mobile events:
  • JOIN
  • IMPRESSION
  • CLICK
  • MESSAGE_RECEIPT
  • MESSAGE_LINK_CLICK
  • SUBSCRIPTION_OPTED_OUT
  • PURCHASE
Let me know if there’s any more information you need for us!
D. Enter your SFTP login in NorthbeamAfter the data feed is set up, add your SFTP credentials (an email address and password):
  1. Open Connections.
  2. Scroll down to Attentive.
  3. Enter your Username and Password.
  4. Click Connect.

Settings > Connections > Attentive

If you skip this step: sign-up volume is missing and the related metrics stay empty.
2

Set up the sign-up event

The connection counts your sign-ups, but it can’t tell which channel drove them. To see that (for example, “Facebook Ads drove X sign-ups”), set up a Custom Goal that fires when a visitor submits your sign-up form.
Use your custom goal to see which channels drive sign-ups. Email Sign Ups shows your total sign-ups from Attentive.
If you skip this step: sign-ups show as Unattributed.

UTMs and spend

UTM parameters (required): Attentive doesn’t need special Northbeam parameters. Use the standard utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign on your Attentive links, with any values you like. If they’re missing, visits and revenue aren’t attributed to your Attentive campaigns. Spend (optional): Northbeam doesn’t import Attentive spend. To get cost-based metrics like ROAS and CAC, upload your costs with a Custom Spendsheet. Without it, no costs are tied to Attentive.
