Step 1: Insert Northbeam UTM Parameters

Please add the following UTM parameters in the Final URL Suffix at the Account Level.

Step-By-Step Guide

For a visual walkthrough of setting up UTM parameters, reference the video below.

UTM Parameter Priority

Google Ads applies UTM parameters based on hierarchy. Lower-level UTMs always take priority over higher-level UTMs.Priority order, highest to lowest:
  1. Ad level
  2. Ad group level
  3. Campaign level
  4. Account level
This means that if UTMs exist at the campaign, ad group, or ad level, they will override anything set at the account-level Final URL Suffix.

What if I already have UTMs at the Campaign, Ad Group or Ad level?

You have two valid options:
  • Move your existing UTMs up to the account level to centralize tracking
  • Move Northbeam UTMs down to the same level as your existing UTMs
Either approach works as long as UTMs are applied consistently and not overridden at a lower level.If UTMs exist at multiple levels, Google will always respect the lowest-level definition.

Have existing UTM parameters?

If you have existing parameters, please add our parameters to the end (or beginning) and we’ll all set. Be sure to use an ampersand (&) to connect your existing parameters to our parameters. For example: utm_source=paid&utm_medium=google&nbt=nb%3Aadwords%3A{network}%3A{campaignid}%3A{adgroupid}%3A{creative}
UTM Auto-AppendingIf you would like Northbeam to automatically append UTM parameters to all Google ads from ad accounts connected to your dashboard, please reach out to our Support team to enable this feature.
