# Tracking for ShopMy

> ShopMy manages the Meta ad account used for Spotlight campaigns, so you do not need to connect that Meta ad account directly to Northbeam.

## Introduction

**This guide shows you how to track ShopMy Spotlight spend and revenue in Northbeam.**

ShopMy manages the Meta ad account used for Spotlight campaigns, so you do not need to connect that Meta ad account directly to Northbeam.

Instead:

* ShopMy sends your Spotlight spend to Northbeam automatically.
* ShopMy adds UTMs to your Spotlight campaigns.
* Northbeam uses those UTMs to track visits and attributed revenue.
* Northbeam labels group matching spend and revenue into the same campaign row.

Once set up, you can view Spotlight spend, attributed revenue, and ROAS in Northbeam.

<Warning>
  ### Do not use [Northbeam's Meta UTMs](/docs/setting-up-facebook-ads-tracking#step-2-insert-northbeam-utm-parameters) on ShopMy Spotlight campaigns.

  ShopMy automatically adds the UTMs needed for Spotlight tracking. Leave these UTMs as provided by ShopMy.

  **Using** [**Northbeam's Meta UTMs**](/docs/setting-up-facebook-ads-tracking#step-2-insert-northbeam-utm-parameters)\*\* will prevent the Spotlight spend and revenue from matching at the campaign level.\*\* You may still be able to group the data under the same platform, but metrics such as **ROAS and CAC by creator** will not consolidate correctly.
</Warning>

***

## Step 1: Connect ShopMy to Northbeam

First, create your Northbeam API credentials.

In Northbeam:

1. Open [API Keys](https://dashboard.northbeam.io/settings/api-keys).
2. Click **Create new API Key**.
3. Copy your **API Key** and **Data Client ID**.

In ShopMy:

1. Go to **Account Settings > Integrations and Tracking**.
2. Find the **Northbeam** connection.
3. Paste in your **API Key** and **Data Client ID**.
4. Save the connection.

That's it. ShopMy will start sending your Spotlight spend to Northbeam on its next daily sync.

You do not need to upload Spotlight spend manually.

***

## Step 2: Set Up Your ShopMy Labels

<Note>
  ### This label setup should take about 2 minutes.

  If you would like help with this step, contact your Northbeam CSM or [submit a support ticket](https://www.northbeam.io/submit-a-support-ticket).
</Note>

Next, set up two labels so your Spotlight spend and attributed revenue appear together in Northbeam:

1. Group ShopMy Spotlight spend and revenue under the same platform.
2. Consolidate matching campaign rows.

<br />

## Part 1: Create the ShopMy Platform Label

First, group your ShopMy Spotlight spend and revenue under the same platform.

1. Go to the [Breakdowns menu](https://dashboard.northbeam.io/breakdowns).
2. Look for an existing breakdown called `Platform (Northbeam)`.
3. If it does not exist, create a new breakdown called `Platform (Northbeam)`.

> **Important:** Use `Platform (Northbeam)` exactly as written, including capitalization and spacing.

<Frame caption="If Platform (Northbeam) doesn't already exist, create it using the exact name shown above.">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/northbeam/EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI/images/readme/87d051db-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_10.24.54.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI&q=85&s=fb27fc5efde49b55ebc2b6054ef325c0" alt="" width="1099" height="282" data-path="images/readme/87d051db-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_10.24.54.png" />
</Frame>

4. Create a new segment called `ShopMy - Spotlights`.
5. Add the rule `Name contains Spotlight`.
6. Click **Save**.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/northbeam/EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI/images/readme/529cc9ee-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_10.13.29.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI&q=85&s=275c1650cbd0ea280c062e301aa3ff4d" alt="" width="1037" height="541" data-path="images/readme/529cc9ee-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_10.13.29.png" />
</Frame>

This groups your ShopMy Spotlight spend and revenue under the same platform because both use `Spotlight` in the campaign name.

<br />

## Part 2: Create the Consolidation Breakdown

Next, create a breakdown that combines matching spend and revenue rows.

### Create the Breakdown

1. Create a new breakdown, such as `Spend + Rev Consolidation`.
2. Switch to the **Advanced Editor**.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/northbeam/EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI/images/readme/93f331f1-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_11.02.46.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI&q=85&s=e6375ee8097b13ffa1393ddfc06017df" alt="" width="1329" height="535" data-path="images/readme/93f331f1-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_11.02.46.png" />
</Frame>

### Add the Consolidation Logic

1. Create a new segment, such as `All Campaigns Consolidation`.
2. Add the rule `Name` `does not contain` `??!!!`.

> **Note:** `??!!!` is just a placeholder used to make this rule apply to all campaigns. You can replace it with any value that would not normally appear in a campaign name.
>
> This also makes the breakdown reusable for other Spend Sheet or Spend API channels that need matching campaign names to consolidate.

3. Set the **Output Label Value** to `{{{data.name}}}`.
4. Click **Add Segment**.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/northbeam/EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI/images/readme/02991bac-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_11.01.21.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI&q=85&s=b543d5ccfee91a0be27c4a1f90b41640" alt="" width="1341" height="868" data-path="images/readme/02991bac-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_11.01.21.png" />
</Frame>

5. Click **Save**.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/northbeam/EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI/images/readme/75935a3c-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_11.13.43.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=EpMPeQ8Ec2Yrg9EI&q=85&s=cafcbb34ddfd6a9812eb4b9fbd72baa6" alt="" width="1217" height="249" data-path="images/readme/75935a3c-CleanShot_2026-08-14_at_11.13.43.png" />
</Frame>

The **Spend + Rev Consolidation** breakdown and segment names can be changed.

The important part is the **Output Label Value**. `{{{data.name}}}` uses the existing campaign name as the label.

When the ShopMy spend campaign name matches its `utm_campaign`, Northbeam gives both rows the same output label and groups them together.

For example, if both use `Spotlight 1111 - John Doe`, the spend and attributed revenue will appear under the same campaign.

### Optional: Use Raw Code

Instead of creating the segment manually, you can paste the code below into the raw editor.

```json theme={null}
[
  {
    "name": "All Campaigns Consolidation",
    "output": "{{{data.name}}}",
    "active": true,
    "priority": 10,
    "matcher": {
      "and": [
        {
          "!contains": [
            {
              "var": "name"
            },
            "??!!!"
          ]
        }
      ]
    },
    "createdAt": "2026-08-14T15:43:48.231Z"
  }
]
```

1. Create your `Spend + Rev Consolidation` breakdown and click **View Raw**.

</Frame>

2. Paste in the code from above.

## Step 3: Validate Your Setup

After your labels are set up:

1. Apply **Platform (Northbeam)** as a breakdown.
2. Add your **Spend + Rev Consolidation** breakdown underneath it.
3. Find **ShopMy - Spotlights**.
4. Add metrics that include both Spend and Session or Conversion data (ex. **Spend, Visits, Cost per Visit, Orders, CPO, Revenue, or ROAS**)
5. Confirm that your Spotlight campaigns show both spend and visits where expected.

Visits are the best first check because they usually appear before orders or revenue. If a campaign has both spend and visits, that is a good sign that the spend and attribution data are connecting correctly.

It is normal for some campaigns to only show spend or visits.

If you expect a campaign to have both, check that the ShopMy campaign name matches the `utm_campaign`.

Look for differences in:

* Spelling
* Spaces
* Capitalization
* Punctuation
* Hyphens

## ShopMy Organic Traffic

The setup above is for **ShopMy Spotlights**.

For organic ShopMy traffic, you can use your normal UTM structure.

We recommend using a clear `utm_campaign`, such as `utm_campaign=[campaign name]`, so you can easily identify ShopMy campaigns in Northbeam.

Organic ShopMy traffic does not require the spend consolidation setup above.

## ShopMy FAQ

## 1. Does ShopMy automatically send spend to Northbeam?

Yes. Once you add your Northbeam API Key and Data Client ID in ShopMy, ShopMy sends your Spotlight spend to Northbeam during its daily sync.

## 2. Do I need to add UTMs to my Spotlight campaigns?

No. ShopMy automatically adds the required UTMs to Spotlight campaigns.

## 3. Why do I need the labels?

The labels group matching ShopMy spend and Northbeam-attributed revenue together at the campaign level.

This lets you view Spend, Revenue, and ROAS for each Spotlight campaign in one place.

## 4. Why aren't my spend and revenue appearing together?

Check that the ShopMy campaign name matches the corresponding `utm_campaign`.

Look for differences in spelling, spaces, capitalization, punctuation, or hyphens.

If the names match and you still have an issue, contact your Northbeam CSM or submit a support ticket.

## 5. Why are my ShopMy, Meta, and Northbeam numbers different?

ShopMy, Meta, and Northbeam use different attribution methods.

Because of this, revenue, conversions, and ROAS may differ between platforms.

## 6. Does this setup apply to organic ShopMy traffic?

No. This setup is specifically for **ShopMy Spotlights**.

Organic ShopMy traffic can use your normal UTM structure and does not require Spotlight spend consolidation.

## 7. I need help setting up my labels. What should I do?

Contact your Northbeam CSM or [submit a support ticket](https://www.northbeam.io/submit-a-support-ticket) and ask for help setting up your **ShopMy Spotlight labels**.
