# Meta & TikTok Shops: Connect the account

## Tracking Setup for Meta Shops

### 1. Connect Your Meta Shop to Ads Manager

1. Log into **Meta Ads Manager** with your advertiser account.
2. Go to **Commerce Manager > Shops**.
3. Confirm your Shop is connected directly to the advertiser account.

### 2. Connect Meta Ads Account to Northbeam & Verify Permissions

1. Make sure your Meta advertiser account is connected to **Northbeam**.
2. Ensure the Meta Business user connecting to Northbeam is an **Admin** on both:
   * The Meta Shop (via Commerce Manager)
   * The Meta advertiser account (via Business Manager / Ads Manager)

### 3. Store-Specific Setup

#### ✅ Shopify Stores

* Connect your Shopify store to [Facebook and Instagram by Meta](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-sales-channels/facebook-instagram-by-meta/setup).
* Ensure your Meta Shop orders are synced to your Shopify dashboard.
* Ensure your [Northbeam Pixel](/docs/add-pixel) and [Purchase Events](/docs/add-pixel) are properly set up (completed during onboarding).

#### ⚙️ Custom Stores

* Use an **Order Tag** to identify Meta Shop orders.
* Pass the tag in the `order_tags` field via the [Northbeam Server API](/reference/post_orders).
* [Reach out to our team](https://www.northbeam.io/submit-a-support-ticket) with the name of the tag so we can finalize setup.

## Tracking Setup for TikTok Shops

Northbeam requires **proper TikTok Shop binding and permissions** in order to attribute GMV and revenue. Ad spend may appear even if binding is incorrect, but revenue will not.

### 1. Bind Your TikTok Shop to Ads Manager

1. Log into **TikTok Ads Manager** (not Business Center).
2. Go to **Assets > TikTok Shop**.
3. Confirm the Shop is **bound directly under the advertiser account**.
   * Shops bound only via Business Center will not sync.

### 2. Connect TikTok Ads Account to Northbeam & Verify Permissions

1. Make sure your TikTok advertiser account is connected to **Northbeam**.
2. Ensure the TikTok user connecting to Northbeam is an **Admin** on both:
   * The TikTok Shop
   * The TikTok advertiser account

### 3. Store-Specific Setup

#### ✅ Shopify Stores

* Connect your Shopify store to [TikTok Shops](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-sales-channels/tiktok/setup).
* Ensure your TikTok Shop orders are synced to your Shopify dashboard.
* Ensure your [Northbeam Pixel](/docs/add-pixel) and [Purchase Events](/docs/add-pixel) are properly set up (completed during onboarding).
